IMPACT STATEMENT

The cost of attending college increases every year and so does the number of hardworking traditional and post-traditional students who need financial help to achieve success. National statistics indicate that on average only 1 in 8 students who need a scholarship receive it, and only 8% receive enough funds to cover 50% of costs (www.thinkimpact.com/scholarship-statistics/). Far too many students are enrolling in college and performing well academically but struggling to afford the secondary expenses such as books, computer technology, a place to live, and food to eat. These facts compelled me and a small group of leaders to make a difference. So, we started the Last Dollar Scholarship Fund as a nonprofit 501c3. The fund was seeded with $25,000, $3,000 in stocks, and a $250,000 planned gift. We need your help to continue to grow our resources and ability to help 25 students per year.

We are asking for your support in growing the Last Dollar Scholarship Fund so we can award scholarships ranging from $500 to $1000 annually to currently enrolled students who need help covering the secondary cost of attendance and support their persistence toward college graduation.
