The Tina Q. Richardson Last Dollar Scholarship is intended to help fill the gap between students’ financial aid, and the real costs of attending college to help with expenses such as books and supplies, computers, room-and-board, graduation expenses, and study abroad, etc. It is referred to as a “last-dollar scholarship” because it is intended to provide support for monthly budgetary items to offset college living expenses incurred after primary tuition expenses are covered from all federal, state, institution, and private educational awards. In addition, students must engage in financial literacy and budgetary planning related to attending college. The goal of the scholarship is to help traditional and post-traditional students attend and graduate from a two- or four-year college.
